Ben's Trip to Chicago
Here's the hotel I'm staying at. It's called the Swissotel and it's right on the banks of the Chicago River where it meets Lake Michigan. Pretty cool place.
It was a busy evening on the Chicago River.
See I'm really here!
This is the view from my window. You can see a marina in the background with lots of sailboats and other yachts.
I'm staying on the 26th floor. To the left is Navy Pier and Lake Michigan.
Chicago is an interesting city to be sure. Check out the multilevel street below. Three city blocks are stacked on top of each other. Then the building on the left is a massive high rise. That's incredible.

Band Concert and BBQ!
We had neighbors, friends, and family over for a BBQ and concert. There was a great turn out and the music was great. Check out the video's recently added below...
Ben thanks everyone for coming and announces the numbers they will be playing.
Ben plays in two bands. This is the first one that played.
Andrea plays the piano and sings "Love Song" by Sara Bareilles with Ben on drums.
This is another band Ben plays with. They are called "Vitae."
This is Israel and his son, Diego, who comes often to the practices. Diego enjoys rocking out with the band.
Our originals are marked with an asterisk.

New Flooring
When we moved into our home in West Jordan, I promised Andrea we could get rid of the nasty carpet in the dinning room and other areas. Well yesterday we replaced 400 square feet of it with beautiful hardwood flooring. Check out the pictures.
Notice all the prep work I had to do... Removing baseboards, ripping out carpet, padding, staples, linoleum, etc. Anyone feeling sorry for me yet?

Our First Camping Trip! (finally)
Friday after work we drove up to the Uinta Mountains. We couldn't find a camp site by the lake so we did a little off roading in the middle of nowhere and found the "perfect spot". We had a fantastic time. Take a look at some of the pictures...
Andrea is getting the fire ready for cooking dinner.
Ahhh charbroiled hot dogs. Mmmmm
Good morning sunshine!
My new camp stove worked like a charm. Thanks REI. (This is car camping at its finest).
If you look closely, this is a baby moose we saw from the car. Andrea wondered where the mom was (I was scared to death we'd find out where the mom was), but we didn't stick around to find out.
We packed the ice chest, chairs, and our food into the canoe and set out on Mirror Lake. It was beautiful, but the water was freezing cold.

We stopped for lunch on the banks of the lake and found we weren't the only ones who were hungry. We gave this little guy some Doritos and once we'd given him a little taste, he kept coming back for more. We tried to give him other things like bread, tomato, and cabbage, but all he wanted were Doritos! So we decided to name him "Chip".
