Halloween Fun

Andrea worked very hard on all our costumes.  I blew up the balloons and drew spots on them :)

Oregon Coast Trip

This past week we drove to the Oregon coast and stayed in a rental property near Rockaway beach.  We stayed there with Brandon, Melissa and Kessie.  It was a lot of fun.

 

 Kaylee loved seeing the ocean.  Her favorite activity was running away from the waves.

 

 

Mommy and Kaylee built sand castles on the beach.

 Kaylee was intrigued by all the fish at the aquarium.

 Kaylee got her first look at genuine sea weed.  We were going to ship it overnight to Provo for Julia but we wanted to save on postage.

Kaylee and her cousin Kessie wanted to swim with the sea birds at the Newport Aquarium.

 This started out with burying Kaylee's toes, then I decided to keep going...

When we had to say good bye to the ocean, Kaylee was very sad.

Kaylee's First Fort

I built Kaylee a fort today.  She wasn't interested in playing in it by herself, only if I went in with her.

Kaylee's First Birthday

Andrea made an awesome carrot cake with none other than pink and green frosting.

 I hung the streamers (also pink and green) and wrapped presents.

Kaylee's First Trip to Chico

The three of us travled to Chico over the Labor Day weekend.  We celebrated grandpa Lowell's  Birthday and saw my cousin Nick and his family.

Then we spent some time at Stoney Gorge.  It was a little smokey. 

Dad took us all go cart racing at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds.

 Mom held the lead in the "Powder Puff" race, but Andrea finally got around when mom looked behind her to say, "Where'd she go?"

 During the main event, I was so far ahead you coulen't even see anybody behind me!

Swimming at Joanie's House

On Saturday Kaylee got to go for a swim in Joanie and Nate's pool.  She had a great time and even learned how to kick!

 We are still trying to teach Kaylee to kick while in this swiming position but she hasn't quite got it yet.

 Her cousin Riley was trying to show her how it's done.

 In her new inner tube is where she finally learned she could move around by kicking.  Little by little she'll be a good swimmer.
